This listing is for a very large and beautiful piece of Japanese Satsuma pottery by Kinkozan dating to the Meiji period. The vase standing an impressive 23 inches tall is intricately hand painted around the entire exterior. Each side displays a large reserve of various figures done with incredible detail and done in slight relief raised from the body. The trim of a rich cobalt blue heavily accented with fine gilt work. It is really spectacular to look at in person. Condition of the vase is very good with the exception of a drill hole to the underside. The gold is still very strong throughout the entire piece and shows almost no signs of wear.
