Hong Kong Dragonboat team is recruiting members for 2018. This is a meaningful character building sports thru sportsmanship, team building and bonding and a healthy lifestyle and social activities.
The team comprises of a good mix of locals and foreigners from many nationalities, males and females, age, race and professions (students to working professionals). You can join us if you have never rowed a dragonboat, a non-swimmer, less physical inclined and all shapes and sizes.
Training is on every Sat and occasional Sunday. Attendance is not compulsory as we understand that this is a recreational sports although most of us are competitive paddlers. Meeting venue is located at the Kallang Basin and the meeting time is at 3pm for warming up session before boarding the boats. Texted me, Andrew, at 96315558 to meet you at Kallang MRT Stn at 230pm sharp to fetch you to the team's meeting place.
Bring with you a big water bottle to last a 2 hrs training out in the elements such waters, wind, sun and beautiful sights. You may bring sun block and a pair of shades or sunglasses. The attire would be jogging attire less the shoes and socks of course. You may put on a pair of slippers or sandals instead. Please bring dry clothing to change after the training session if necessary cos most of us don't do that fyi.
We will loan you with the life vest and the paddle for free if you do not have one. Let me know if your bag is not waterproof so that we can arrange to keep your bag during the training session.
Training is free for the first month only. Subsequent months onward, you may pay $40 on a monthly basis or a one time annual membership fee (pro-rated). The fee includes the loan of the life vest, paddle, storage of bag, occasional land training, team bonding activities, BBQ session, team recreational activities and more. You are a regular or full member with the team, will then be able to purchase our team's jersey ($10) and to participate for the local and overseas dragonboat races.
